What Are Spiritual Gifts?

In both the Old and the New Testaments of the Bible, God gives gifts to his people to equip them to better serve the Church and their community. They are called "spiritual gifts" because they are given by God and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Every believer is given a gift or a combination of gifts listed in Scripture. No one gift is greater or superior to another but all compliment one another for carrying out the mission of God through the Body of Christ.
