2022 Bible Reading Plan

2022 Bible Reading Plan

Many of you have asked if we would have a church-wide Bible reading initiative in 2022 and the answer is “Yes!” While I normally advocate for an intentional focus on smaller chunks of Scripture at a time, (like our New Testament in a year in 2021), as I was praying and planning earlier this year, I felt a need and desire to have greater exposure to all of God’s word, especially the places that I frequent the least- wisdom literature (Psalms, Proverbs) and the Major Prophets (Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel), both for deepening my understanding of Scripture and personal devotion, as well as enhancing our worship gatherings.

I want to invite you to join me as I follow the M’Cheyne Reading Plan- reading the Old Testament once, and the New Testament twice in 2022. There are many tools that can be used to help guide you through this reading plan including devotional guides like For the Love of God from Don Carson, as well as daily reminders emailed to you https://bibleplan.org/plans/mcheyne.

This plan is also included in the YouVersion Bible App. (For your iPhone or Android device.)

Reading the entire Bible in a year may seem daunting or overwhelming but the beauty of this plan is that it can be broken down for each person. So maybe you can’t commit to reading the full plan but could commit to reading through the Old Testament in 2022 or spending devotional time praying through the Psalms twice in 2022. Or maybe you got off track in 2021 and want to revisit the New Testament and will follow the New Testament reading plan in 2022.

No matter which way you choose my hope is that this is something that we will endeavor in together as a church family and be able to encourage and edify one another with what the Spirit is speaking to us through his word as we read together.

Please let me know if you have any questions about the Bible Reading Plan for 2022 or any of the resources and tools mentioned.
