Reports to: Children’s Minister
Job Status: Part-Time (paid hourly)
FLSA Status: Exempt
Effective Date: Immediately
SUMMARY:
This person shall be responsible to the Children’s Minister and through the Children’s Minister, to the Senior Pastor.

SUMMARY:
This person shall be responsible to the Children’s Minister and through the Children’s Minister, to the Senior Pastor.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
- Provide childcare within the preschool department (infant to 4 years old) during regular activities of the church. (Sundays and possibly Wednesdays in the future)
- Provide childcare during other special church wide scheduled events as needed. (These may include special events or activities of the church as a whole or as planned by individual groups of the church. Only upon request.)
- Greet each parent at the door with a smile and receive each child personally into the nursery.
- Learn the names of the parents and children.
- Identify special needs of children and communicate those needs to the Children’s Minister in order to best accommodate those needs.
- Work with RBC volunteers to promote a joyous volunteer experience that encourages continued service and validates their participation as valuable service to RBC and to the Kingdom.
- All toys and equipment are to be put away and cleaned each time they are used.
- All diapers should be changed as needed. A fresh diaper should be placed on each child near the time they are picked up. A record of daily diaper changings and feedings should be kept and distributed to each parent upon pick-up.
- Take great care in making the nursery a safe place: physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
- Support and carry out the Children and Students policies and procedures as listed in the Child Protection Policy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Can identify closely with the mission, values, vision, theology, philosophy and methodology of Riverchase Baptist Church.
- A maturing Christian who demonstrates the Fruits of the Spirit, is growing in their faith and is committed to spiritual disciplines such as Bible reading, prayer and sabbath.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years removed from High School
- Ability to pass church approved background check
